About me
I’m Zoë Burt, and this platform is the result of a career spent inside global finance, paired with a belief that money should be a tool for living well, not something that feels intimidating or exclusive.
My Story
I grew up in a small town in North Yorkshire, but I’ve always been driven by curiosity and a desire to see more of the world. At 18, I travelled solo to Argentina, beginning an international journey that took me to live and work across six countries and become fluent in four languages by the age of 30.
Today, I’m based in the South West of England, with regular trips to London. My work spans financial education, coaching, content creation, writing, public speaking, and media — alongside time outdoors and creative pursuits, which continue to shape how I define wealth.
A Background in Global Finance
I began my career as an international Wealth Manager in Milan, where I gained both UK and US financial advice qualifications. Working with international clients and complex cross-border finances gave me a strong technical foundation and a deep understanding of global markets.
Over time, I became increasingly aware that traditional finance was failing too many people. Millions were excluded from meaningful financial education — particularly due to the gender investing gap and the widening advice gap. The industry often prioritised complexity over clarity, leaving many without the confidence or knowledge to engage with their own money.
Why I Created Words on Wealth
I returned to the UK to work with award-winning Danish fintech Female Invest during its UK expansion, where I was the in-house financial content specialist. There, I helped educate thousands of women on investing, focusing on clarity, confidence, and practical application.
After spending time at a UK-based fintech focused on women’s financial wellbeing, I co-founded Financial Freedom Coaching and launched Words on Wealth as a standalone platform.
Today, my work is centred on democratising access to financial education. This involves translating markets and investing into information people actually need, so they can make informed decisions and build wealth on their own terms and in a way that works for them.
Alongside my content platforms, I continue to work as a freelance consultant delivering financial education in schools, as well as advising startups on growth and innovation.
I’ve delivered financial education workshops and talks for global organisations including Rothschild, Nasdaq, Snapchat, Ørsted, Deloitte, and Google.
My work has been featured nationally and internationally in Good Housekeeping, Stylist Magazine, Business Insider, and on Channel 5 television.
